Day Two: The Trip To RRG (Half Moon)

I called the Forest Services's Gladie Ranger Station to see if Chimney Top Road was open. We found out it would be opening soon so while waiting we headed out to Swift Camp Creek Trail #219 by Rock Bridge where we quickly jumped off into the creek with our waders on and fly rods in hand.

Harvest Louisville

The ubiquity of the phrase, “Farm to Table” in today’s restaurant world has seemingly turned those three words into a cliché more than a selling point, a slogan that entices your taste buds about as little as seeing the word, “Organic” displayed in the supermarket. While this Portlandia segment-worthy concept of farm fresh ingredients may have run it’s course in the minds of foodies, Harvest restaurant in Louisville, KY is taking things to a new level of fresh – and we’re celebrating them for it.

Shanty Hallow: How I Captured An Amazing Sunset

Typically always have my camera and this time had a little extra gear stashed in the car from a shoot the day before. So when we saw the colors over the lake at sunset I pulled out the tripod, neutral density filters, and I started adjusting the settings on my camera to get the best shot. typically always have my camera and this time had a little extra gear stashed in the car from a shoot the day before. Our First Gear Review: Meet the Forsake Pilots

To date I have 600+ miles on these shoes and I must share with y’all that they are just as durable and fly as when I set out on my first adventure with them. My Forsake Pilots have accompanied me on miles of day hikes, climbs, paddles, urban exploring, and daily use with plenty more miles to go. There is no doubt, these shoes will take me through this new year with hiking goals like completing the Sheltowee Trace Trail, the 45 miles of the Pine Mountain State Scenic Trail, or just simply hiking to Indian Staircase. I firmly recommend you consider Forsake for all of your adventures.

A Visit to Warrenwood Manor

I always wonder who has walked the streets before me. When I first stumbled across Warrenwood Manor on Instagram I was enthralled immediately. The idea that a young couple would purchase a small farm and renovate it for events touched a deep place inside of me. I have always wanted to peel back the layers of time to reveal the stories beneath the exterior of a house.

The Java Joint Cafe

The cafe is frequented by regulars, and people are quick to introduce themselves and suggest their favorites. A handwritten, chalkboard coffee menu, features standard options as well as specialty coffee. Intriguing flavors such as Raspberry Truffle and Heath Bar are just a few of the temptations. The menu itself consists of food of not only a meat variety, but also vegan and vegetarian.
