Kentucky State Parks and Kentucky Horse Park Open for Daytime Use Only

The Kentucky Department of Parks has announced today that the Kentucky Horse Park and all 49 state parks sites will be open to the public for daytime use only to reduce the potential spreading of the coronavirus (COVID-19). All state park lodges, cottages, restaurants, and campgrounds are closed effective April 3, 2020. The move was announced Thursday via email media release and during Gov. Andy Beshear press conference with the goal of expanding upon on the #HealthyAtHome initiative, mitigating opportunities for people to form gatherings, and discouraging interstate travel.

Here is a breakdown of the changes:

  •  All state park lodges, cottages, restaurants, and campgrounds are closed effective April 3, 2020.

  • All park grounds, trails, and picnic areas will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. effective April 3, 2020.

  • •    Group and park events are canceled through April 30.

  • Historic homes, museums, and gift shops are closed until further notice.

  • All state park golf courses remain open.

    • Please call the park for course hours.

  • Please call each individual park if you have questions about services, updates, etc.
