Explore Kentucky Initiative on WBKO's Midday Live

Since I started Explore Kentucky in 2013 from my dorm room at Campbellsville University, I have been trying to mostly stay behind the scenes, letting our colossal task of curating adventures to share, showcasing the visual tempo of Kentucky’s outdoors, and going on informal/ impromptu travels around the bluegrass, meeting with different folk, speak for itself. But in the latter part of 2015  I was finally ready to unleash to the world what my vision was for Explore Kentucky, transcending, beyond just being a cool Instagram (We just hit over 25.7K followers! Eek!) to check out for trip inspiration, but into a full fledged organization that advocates for our natural spaces, helps introduce people to the outdoors through guided trips, tells stories, and makes wicked films that inspire people to get off their couch and climb, hike, paddle, etc. So I decided to stop being covert and  finally allowed  the media folks behind the scenes into EKI. Big ups to Laura Rogers and WBKO TV in Bowling  for inviting me to be on their Midday Live show today to  talk about our endeavors for 2016. This was our first television appearance since our re-brand from Explore Kentucky into the " Explore Kentucky Initiative."

Sidebar getting my Bote Boards RealTree Edition HD board in the studio was an ordeal but we made it happen!

Laura and I hope to do some more segments together; wouldn't yall love to see her  liquid shredding the Barren River on a stand-up paddleboard?!

As we enter 2016, the Explore Kentucky Initiative needs your help to fully carry out our programs like outdoor education, stewardship opportunities like  waterway cleanups, and hosting more guided trips . Please consider becoming a member or donating to our cause using the button below.
