Ghosts of a Lost Cause Screening At Kentucky THeatre
Ghosts of a Lost Cause examines Kentucky’s Confederate monuments, the history they were built to represent, and the ordinary citizens who challenged their place in public spaces during the 2020 Movement for Black Lives.
This special screening kicks off Beyond Statues: A Convening on Land, Space, and Memory, the Monuments Workshop’s inaugural national conference. Following the film, Monuments Workshop co-director Zachary Bray will moderate a conversation with filmmakers and community leaders about public memory, memorialization, and how we tell the stories of the places we share.
Explore Kentucky at the Screening
Explore Kentucky founder Gerry Seavo James is the Executive Producer and Co-Director of Ghosts of a Lost Cause and will join the post-screening conversation alongside co-Director Sherman Neal and Russell Allen, co-organizer of Take Back Cheapside.
