PADDLE. MUSIC. FESTIVAL
This spring grab a kayak, paddle board, or canoe and join EKI & friends for the third annual Bluegrass River Run (BRR) presented by Visit Lex, one of the largest paddling events in Kentucky. We’ll launch from Fort Boonesborough State Park paddling along pool 9 of the Kentucky River, which is located just south of Lexington. The journey allows you to take in the incredible beauty of the 60+ ft cliffs of the palisades and the camaraderie of floating with people from all across the country. As we approach the 6 mile finish line at Clay's Ferry, you'll be greeted with music from our headliner, as well as the scrumptious food from Proud Mary BBQ. There will also be an an outdoor recreational festival with tons of activities for all ages including partners like Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, Bluegrass Wildwater Association, & Water and Oak.
For the folks who want more of a fitness challenge take on the 19 Mile Lock 10 to Lock 9 Challenge or the 6 Mile Boonesborough Beach to Proud Mary Dash canoe, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard races. If you can’t BYOB (Bring Your Own Boat), don’t fret we will have plenty of canoes, kayaks, and SUPs for rent!

Scott T. Smith & The Family
Scott is a young folk/soul singer from Hurricane, WV. Being from West Virginia. He has a deep love for traditional Folk Music and Bluegrass, but in a household where he grew up listening to Soul/R&B greats, the two worlds collide. He will be rocking out Proud Mary's stage starting at 2:30 P.M on Saturday!
In order to make sure our event is inclusive if you can’t BYOB (Bring Your Own Boat) we will have kayaks, canoes, and Stand-Up Paddleboards available for rent thanks to our paddlesports outfitter partners: Endless Summer Paddle Company, Mike’s Hike and Bike, and Asbury University Adventure Leadership School. Rental fees include the paddlecraft, PFD ( personal floatation device), paddles, and a quickstart lesson. All you need to in order to secure your boat or board (while they last) is to add a rental to your registration. On BRR morning your craft will be on the beach waiting for you!
