2.5 Mile Harrods Creek Run

Race begins: 12:30 PM

Starting Location Address: 5700 Captains Quarters Rd, Prospect, KY 40059

This is a 2. 5 mile flat water loop race on Harrods Creek, a small tributary of the Ohio River. There is relatively no current and little wind, some boat traffic, and is a no wake zone. Depending on your craft and experience, it will take between 20 minutes to 45 minutes to complete the course. This event is the 5K of the paddlesports racing scene and perfect for people just breaking into the racing scene.

Paddler will receive:

  • Great Ohio River Odyssey Tri-blend shirt.
  • Support boats stationed along the course all day in case they are needed.

  • Professional medical and communications coverage on the course.

  • Unique finisher's coin.

7 Mile Captains Quarters to Downtown Open Race &  Float

Finish Location Address: Louisville ROwing Club- 1501 Fulton St, Louisville, KY 40206

This is a longer 7 mile flat-water event that starts river left at Captain's Quarters on Harrods Creek. Paddlers will streak downstream towards the heart of the city Louisville.   As the Ohio River is a major navigational waterway there is commercial and pleasure boat traffic. We are shooting for a downwind or flatwater experience; , if the weather cooperates. We will change the direction of the race to optimize the conditions for a fast, fun, challenging race. Paddlers will  past the historic Louisville Water Tower, Beargrass Creek, an urban stream in the process of restoration, and ultimately end up at the Community Boathouse dock not far from the beautiful skyline of the Louisville. This event is the perfect distance and course if you’re looking for an adventurous challenge. Depending on your experience, it will take between 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours to complete the course. This is a great opportunity to get into the racing scene, to push you body, and to see what you can do! If you're not into racing, that's okay as well! You can float as well while enjoying the camaraderie/safety of being with awesome paddlers from all around the country.

  • Post race party and meal at Kingfish Restaurant in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Westport to Downtown Louisville 22 Mile Race

Race begins:10 Am

Starting Location Address: Westport Boat Ramp -6607 Main St, Westport, KY 40077

Finish Location Address: Louisville ROwing Club- 1501 Fulton St, Louisville, KY 40206

This is a point to point 22 mile race on the Ohio River. The starting line is at the boat ramp of the local river community, Westport, KY. The course can range from a placid run to a challenging one depending on the weather conditions. As the Ohio River is a major navigational channel, there will be some barge traffic,  & pleasure boat traffic. We will change the direction of the race to optimize the conditions for a fast, fun, challenging race. This race is for intermediate to elite paddlers with the skill and fitness to complete this endurance challenge. Depending on your craft, experience, and river conditions: it will take between 3 to 6 hours to complete the course. Our cut-off time is 6 hours. This is a great opportunity to push your limits and a great training run for folks taking on the Chattajack 31 in October.
